Carew is situated to the north of the A477 and east of the A4075 with the much older western section near the castle and later developments of Kesteven Court and Carew Park to the east. Sageston was a small rural village until the adjoining airfield was developed in 1914. The majority of the new housing was constructed in the 1990's. The estimated population of the two villages is 535.

To the south of the A477 lies the small settlement of Carew Cheriton, population about 35. To the north is a group of housing at Whitehill, Branders Park and Pisgah, with a population of about 150 and the settlement of Carew Newton with about 25 people.

Milton was an important village on the stage coach route to London. It now lies to the north of the A477 and has a population of approximately 130. The Farm Shop and the Milton Manor Hotel, however, are situated on the other side of the bypass.

Redberth, the name probably having evolved from ‘ford by the bush’ is the most eastern of the villages and has a population of about 70.

West Williamston, with a population of about 30 lies adjacent to the Cresswell River.
