Wiston Area Business Network
The parish of Wiston lies to the north of the A40 road, about five miles north east of Haverfordwest. Wiston is the most southerly of the villages and Walton East is the most northern, with Clarbeston Road and Clarbeston in the centre.
The parish is set in spectacular countryside, with scattered farms and cottages served by a network of quiet, high banked lanes. Each community retains a distinct identity, despite many changes over the past half century.
Wiston village radiates out from the impressive parish church of St Mary’s and opposite is the ancient castle site. Nearby, St Aidans VA Primary School stands alongside the original 19th century school building, which has been converted for business use. In addition to a number of large farms, there are several businesses in and around the village, including a carpenter in the old school and an upholsterer. Housing is of varying age and style and includes two small estates. There is no longer a post office but the village has a post box and public telephone.
